Hello👋

And Welcome.

This little piece of the internet was created as a central hub for me to learn about poker.

Specifically -

I’m interested in a very specific and targeted niche:

No Limit Hold’em 6-Max Cash Games (Online Only)

The reason I picked this game above the others is that it’s what I used to play exclusively back in the golden days of online poker (2003-2008) when there were fish everywhere and winning was easy.

Like many others, I quit playing poker after Black Friday and haven’t thought about it much since.

Fast forward to 2026.

Since then I have gotten a real job, started a family, and currently live a stereotypical middle America suburbanite lifestyle.

By a stroke of chance, my interest in poker was rekindled one night when the family and I decided to play cards. On a whim, I decided to throw a little money online and see what the NL hold’em six-max cash games looked like today.

Needless to say, I was an absolute shock by how tough these games have become relative to what they were 15 to 20 years ago.

In today’s environment, for all intents and purposes, I am currently a fish - and that pisses me off. Simple ABC poker won’t cut it anymore.

To be successful, I’m going to have to come up with a new game plan.

This website is my “learning in public” solution to getting good at modern-day online poker.

So, here it is:

Moving Up In Stakes

I’m starting at 2nl, because why not?

The goal of this project is to learn and improve, not to risk large sums of money.

Besides, I make way more money working my normal job than I ever will playing poker. I’m not delusional.

For now, 2 NL it is.

I’ll start with a comfortable bankroll of $500 (250 buy-ins). You can view my progress in my session log.

I’ll move up once I’ve proved I can beat each stake and climb progressively higher after 10,000 or more hands per level. If the previous stakes winnings don’t sufficiently provide an appropriate bankroll for the next stake, I’ll add more money from external sources.

If I can’t consistently beat a given level, I will systematically break it down and strategically correct the problems.

Learning Strategy

Currently, I’m in the process of fleshing out a ‘no stone unturned. curriculum on this game.
